HomeMy WebLinkAbout110992 OTLRB Minutes OLD TOWN TEMECULA NISTORICAL PRESERVATION DISTRICT LOCAL REVIEW BOARD Regular Meeting November 9, 1992 Members Present: Robert Morris, Walt Allen, Larry Markham, Bill Harker City Staff: Mathew Fagan Guest: Sandra Schrader (CNN) The~meeting convened at 9:15 a.m. in the Board Room of the Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street. There was no public discussion. 1. Minutes of the October 12, 1992 meeting were approved as written· 3. Projects Presented for Board Review: a) Fagan presented color photos of a sign the owner of the corner deli has had made to replace the existing weathered painted wood sign on the roof of the porch over the board walk. The new sign is Mylar, a material not available in the early 1900's. Therefore the Board denied the request without prejudice and the suggestion that he work with staff in developing a more acceptable sign and bring it back before the Board. Staff Status Report: a) Bids on the Senior Citizen building will be' awarded soon and a ground breaking ceremony will be announced in the near future. b) The City will be chain link fencing the Henning property On Pujol Street. c) The building at 6th and Mercedes Streets is up for auction again and Fagan has received some recent inquiries from interested parties. d) Funding options are under review to cover the cost of quake protection and rehabilitation. A tentative date of Nov. 18th at 6:30 p.m. has been set for a workshop at the City Hall on the Old Town Specific Plan. A tentative date of Dec. 5th has been set for a display of sample store fronts for the Old Town mer- chants to review. Markham reported that a prototype -more- Minutes, Review Board Meeting 11/09/92 Pg, Z block wiI1 be established once the specific plan has been has been approved. Fagan announced the next meeting of the Steering commit- te will be Dec. 10th and the specific plan will be submitted to the Planning Coramission sometime in Feb- ruary. Board members present were reminded of the Murrieta Creek clean up project to be held Saturday, Nov. 14th. There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m. The walking tour of Old Town was passed to another time when more Board members can participate.
