OLD TOWN TEMECULA
HISTORICAL PRESERVATION DISTRICT
LOCAL REVIEW BOARD
Regular Meeting
May 13, 1991
Members Present:
Donald Cummins, Bob Morris, Tony Tobin,
Dallas Gray, Bill Harker
The meeting convened at 8:30 a.m. at 2846~ Front Street,
Suite 201.
A brief discussion was held on the status of the Re-
development District and the affect of a settlement
or abandonment of the proposed district would have on
Old Town Temecula.
Cummins informed the Board that the streets in Old Town
were swept before the May llth parade and will now be
swept on a weekly basis.
Harker and Morris reported on the outcome of their
meeting with members of the City Planning Department.
It was agreed to wait for Gary Thornhill's return from
vacation to see what can be done about the building
overhang problem.
There is still some concern among Board members with
respect to the City's understanding of what we are trying
to accomplish for Old Town and the fact that it is unique
and should be treated differently from other parts of the
City.
A discussion was held regarding attending the Main Street
conference in E1 Segundo on May 30th, Tobin indicated he
was interested in attending the session. Harker agreed
to get more information on this and inform the other
Board members.
A discussion was held on the future of the Temecn].a
Museum and the need to move into another facility before
November 1, ].991.
It was decided to approach the City with a request to
expand the historical district to Santiago Road to the
south and Moreno Road to the north. Such a request will
again be sent to the City Council.
The meeting Kdjourned at 9:45 a.m.
