PUBLIC/TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION
OCTOBER 23, 2008
CALL TO ORDER
The City of Temecula Public/Traffic Safety Commission convened in a regular meeting
at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008, in the City Council Chambers of Temecula
City Hall, 43200 Business Park Drive, Temecula, California.
FLAG SALUTE
Commissioner Hagel led the audience in the Flag salute
ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners: Hagel, Ramos, Curran, Youmans and Chairperson
Arbogast
Absent: None
PUBLIC COMMENTS
No comments.
COMMISSION REPORTS
Due to technical difficulties with the audio system, the following Commissioner's
individual comments will not be reflected on the minutes:

COMMISSION CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Minutes of September 25, 2008
RECOMMENDATION:
1.1 Approve the Minutes of September 25, 2008.
MOTION: Commissioner Curran moved to approve the Consent Calendar.
Commissioner Hagel seconded the motion and voice vote reflected unanimous
approval.

COMMISSION BUSINESS
2. Traffic Information 1610 AM Radio Signs
RECOMMENDATION:
2.1 That the Public/Traffic Safety Commission review and discuss the
proposed signs and sign locations for the Traffic Information 1610 AM
Radio signs.
Senior Management Analyst Middlecamp, by way of staff report, advised that the City
has purchased the 1610 AM radio signal and will be using this to provide the community
with up to date traffic information; that staff will be recommending placing signs
encouraging residents to tune to AM 1610 for traffic information at the locations of the
current "Welcome Home" signs, located at the following locations:
• Westbound Winchester Road (before Jefferson)
• Eastbound Winchester Road (before Ynez)
• Westbound Winchester Road at Rustic Glen Drive
• Westbound Rancho California Road (west of Promenade Chardonnay Hills)
• Eastbound Rancho California Road (before Ynez)
• Westbound 379 (west of Butterfield Stage)
• Eastbound S79 (before Bedford Court)
• Northbound Front Street (north of S79)
• Westbound Rancho California Road (before Jefferson)
Thanking Ms. Middlecamp for her staff report, it was the consensus of the Public/Traffic
Safety Commission to receive and file this report.
3. Request to Amend Parking Restriction - Corte Alamar
RECOMMENDATION:
3.1 That the Public/Traffic Safety Commission consider the request to amend
the parking restriction on Corte Alamar and provide direction to staff.
Due to technical difficulties with the audio system, comments made by the two
individuals, and staff's report will not be reflected on the minutes.

MOTION: Commissioner Ramos moved to deny the request by residents to amend the
parking restriction on Corte Alamar. Commissioner Youmans seconded the motion and
voice vote reflected unanimous approval.

4. Commission Meeting Schedule - November and December 2008
RECOMMENDATION:
4.1 That the Public/Traffic Safety Commission direct the Senior Office
Specialist to cancel and reschedule the regular meetings for November
and December 2008, and to perform the appropriate postings and
noticing requirements per the Government Code.
It was the consensus of the Public/Traffic Safety Commission to cancel and reschedule
the regular meetings for November and December 2008.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER'S REPORT
No report at this time.
POLICE CHIEF'S REPORT
Police Chief Williams provided a staff report, (of record), but due to technical difficulties
with the audio system, comments will not be reflected on the minutes.
FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT
Fire Chief Fulcher provided a staff report (of record), but due to technical difficulties with
the audio system, comments will not be reflected on the minutes.
ADJOURNMENT
At 7:06 p.m. Chairperson Arbogast formally adjourned this meeting to Thursday,
December 11, 2008, at 6:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, 43200 Business Park
Drive, and Temecula.
