PUBLIC COMMENTS:
• Mary Towell addressed the Commission with regard to stop signs in front of Temecula
Luiseno Elementary School.
COMMISSION REPORTS:
COMMISSION CONSENT CALENDAR
Action Minutes of December 10, 2009 - Approved staff recommendation — (5-0-0) —
Commissioner Ramos made the motion; it was seconded by Commissioner Hagel;
and voice vote reflected unanimous approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
1.1 Approve the Action Minutes of December 10, 2009.
COMMISSION BUSINESS
2. Election of Chairperson and Vice -Chairperson — Appointed Chairperson
Youmans to serve another year as Chairperson — (5-0-0) — Commissioner
Arbogast made the motion; it was seconded by Commissioner Hannum and
voice vote reflected unanimous approval.
Appointed Commissioner Hagel to serve another year as Vice Chairperson —
(5-0-0) — Commissioner Ramos made the motion; it was seconded by
Commissioner Hannum and voice vote reflected unanimous approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
2.1 That the Public/Traffic Safety Commission entertain nominations to elect a
Chairperson and a Vice -Chairperson to preside through the 2010 calendar year.
3. Request for Multi -Way Stop Signs and Marked Crosswalks— Meadowview Community
- Approved staff recommendation — (5-0-0) — Commissioner Arbogast made the
motion; it was seconded by Commissioner Hagel and voice vote reflected unanimous
approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
3.1 That the Public/Traffic Safety Commission:
1. Deny the request for installation of Multi -Way Stop signs at the intersections of
Del Rey at Avenida Verde and Avenida Buena Suerte, and Via Norte at
Carmelita Circle, Avenida Centenario, and Calle Fiesta;
2. Direct Staff to work with the Meadowview Community Association and
responsible property owners to remove vegetation at the northwest corner of Via
Norte at Carmelita Circle, the northwest corner of Via Norte at Calle Fiesta and
the southeast corner of Via Norte at Avenida Centenario to improve sight
distance visibility;
3. Direct staff to include the Meadowview Community in the Citywide
Comprehensive Plan to determine appropriate signing and marking for the
community's trail system; and
4. Recommend maintaining the present level of control on Del Rey Road and Via
Norte until the comprehensive plan is developed.

At 7:02 P.M., Commissioner Arbogast moved, seconded by Commissioner Hagel, to
adjourn the Public Traffic Safety Commission meeting to Thursday, February 25, 2010,
2009, at 6:00 PM.
