A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMECULA APPOINTING THE CITY ATTORNEY AND
ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEYS
WltEREAS, the City of Temecula was incorporated on December 1, 1989, as a general
law city of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, it was necessary for the continued efficient operation of the affairs of the
City that the City Council appoint a City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint replacements to fill the vacant positions
of City Attorney and Assistant City Attorneys.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA DOES
RF.~OLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Peter M. Thorson of the firm of Burke Williams and Sorensen is hereby
appointed as City Attorney. Mary-Jo Shelton-Dutcher, and Jerry M. Patterson are hereby
designated as Assistant City Attorneys. The City Attorney shall serve at the pleasure of the City
Council.
Section 2. Reasonable compensation for legal services and expenses shall be paid to
Burke Williams and Sorensen. Compensation rates shall be established by the City Council and
may from time to time be adjusted by Minute Order of the City Council.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this resolution.
