A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMECULA REGARDING THE EXPENDITURE OF
FUNDS FROM COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT 88-12
FOR THE PURCHASE OF A PARK NEAR THE
INTERSECTION OF MARGARITA ROAD AND MORAGA
ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Temecula has acquired through the settlement of a condemnation
action a twenty acre site near the intersection of Margarita Road and Moraga Road;
WHEREAS, the purpose of the property acquisition is to construct and maintain a park
on the property;
WHEREAS, the park will have an estimated useful life of five (5) years or longer;
WHEREAS, the park property is located adjacent to Community Facilities District
88-12;
WHEREAS, the park will benefit persons owning real property, working and living
within Community Facilities District 88-12 by providing a significant recreational facility in the
immediate vicinity of the District;
WHEREAS, the park property is currently vacant and is surrounded on each side by
different land uses at different elevations. Establishing a park at this location will simultaneously
help to consolidate the area by acting as a buffer zone between different uses and different
elevations;
WHEREAS, the park will preserve open space and provide a transition between single
family residences, multifamily residences, public uses and business uses;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temecula hereby resolves as
follows:
Section 1. The City Council finds that the above recitals to be true and correct.
Section 2. The City of Temecula hereby agrees to own, operate and maintain the park
upon completion of construction.
