Councilmembers:
Comerchero, Lindemans, Stone, Ford,
and Roberts.
Absent: Councilmember: None.
Also present were City Manager Bradley and Deputy City Clerk Ballreich.
ALLEGIANCE
The audience was led in the Flag salute by Councilman Comerchero.

CITY COUNCIL BUSINESS
1 Selection of an Executive Search Firm
RECOMMENDATION:
1.1 Select a professional consulting firm to conduct the City Manager recruitment.
City Manager Bradley informed the Councilmembers that staff has solicited proposals from four
executive search firms and that three of the firms responded and will be making their
presentations this evening, noting that one of the firms will be making its presentation via
telephone.
Mr. Doug Clark, Vice President of PMW Associates, provided a detailed presentation of PMW
Associates' proposal, highlighting key issues as well as the proposed research process. In
response to the Councilmembers,
CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
Advising that there are no reportable actions on the first portion of the Closed Session, City
Attorney Thorson advised that because the Council was unable to complete its Closed Session
items, the Council would be returning to Closed Session.
At 8:08 P.M., the City Council returned to Closed Session and resumed to Open Session at 8:27
P.M.
Having concluded two portions of Closed Session, City Attorney Thorson advised that there are
no reportable actions under the Brown Act. With respect to the three real estate matters,
Council gave further direction and that any action would be taken in Open Session. With regard
to the one potential litigation matter, which was continued, with respect to the subsequent need
item, and with respect to the personnel issue relative to the City Manager, City Attorney Thorson
advised that there are no reportable actions.
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:57 P.M., Mayor Roberts formally adjourned the City Council meeting to Tuesday,
November 24, 1998, at 6:00 P.M., in the Main Conference Room.
