HomeMy WebLinkAbout17-28 CC Resolution RESOLUTION NO. 17-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TEMECULA AND MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES FOR CALPERS EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTION COST SHARING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Temecula executed a contract on December 1, 1990 permitting the City and its employees to participate in the Public Employees' Retirement System. Section 2. The Public Employees' Retirement Law sets forth the procedure by which the City may elect to amend said contract. Section 3. The City desires to amend said contract to allow for cost sharing of employer contributions under Government Code 20516. Section 4. CalPERS requires the City to take the following steps before a contract amendment can be initiated: A. The City of Temecula and CalPERS "classic' management and confidential employees agree to 3% cost sharing of employer contributions under Government Code 20516 as follows: 1. This agreement applies to current and future CalPERS "classic" miscellaneous employees who are unrepresented and classified as Executive, Management, or Confidential staff. 2. Cost sharing of employer contributions under Government Code 20516 requires unanimous agreement of all current and active employees subject to this provision. 3. All current and active City employees who agree to 3% cost sharing of employer contributions shall apply their signature to Exhibit A. This list represents 100% of the active impacted employees.
