A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES
FOR WATERLINE MODIFICATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ENGINEER TO ISSUE PERiVIITS FOR THIS SPECIFIC
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CiTY Of TEMECULA DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, The California State Vehicular Code provides for the promulgation of rules and
regulations for the temporary closure of public streets by local authorities by Resolution; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish rules and regulations for the temporary
closure of public streets in the interest of promoting safety and protection; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Temecula desires to authorize the closure of public streets for
waterline modifications associated with the First Street Extension Project, PW95-08, for which such
temporary street closure promotes the safety and protection of persons using or proposing to use
the street for the construction related activity: and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to facilitate the issuance of permission to temporarily
close public streets for waterline modifications associated with the First Street Extension Project,
PW95-08: and;
NOW, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Engineer to approve
temporary street closures for the waterline modifications associated with the First Street Extension
Project, PW95-08, and to establish the general rule that all other proposed temporary street
closures shall be reviewed and approved subject to conditions, or disapproved, by the City Council;
and,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Temecula, hereby
authorizes the City Engineer to permit temporary street closures for the waterline modifications
associated with the First Street Extension Project, PW95-08, and establishes the general rule that
all other temporary public street closures shall be approved or denied approval by the City Council.
