A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMECULA DESIGNATING A "BILLBOARD FREE"
ZONE IN THE CITY OF TEMECULA AND ITS SPHERE OF
INFLUENCE
The City Council of the City of Temecula does resolve, determine and order as follows:
WHEREAS, The City Council is concemed about the maintenance of the visual aesthetic
quality of the City of Temecula, and with the creation of an orderly and balanced development
scheme within the City of Temecula; and
WltEREAS, Ordinance 93-09 was adopted which prohibits Outdoor Advertising Displays;
and
WHEREAS, Change of Zone 6278 was filed with the Riverside County Planning
Department; and
WHEREAS, Change of Zone 6278 is located on property contained within the City of
Temecula's Sphere of Influence; and
WHEREAS, Change of Zone 6278 will permit Outdoor Advertising Displays;
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Temecula hereby
recommends that the Riverside County Board of Supervisors designate the area between the San
Diego County line and the Temecula City Limits along Interstate 15 as a "Billboard Free" Zone
and prohibit Outdoor Advertising Displays in Change of Zone 6278.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTEr}, by the City Council of the City of Temecula
at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of April 1997.
