HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-039 CC ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 01-39 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA ORDERING CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AGAINST PARCELS OF LAND WITHIN THE CITY OF TEMECULA FOR COSTS OF ABATEMENT AND REMOVAL OF HAZARDOUS VEGETATION WHEREAS, following a public hearing held on April 23, 1991, the City Council of the City of Temecula adopted Ordinance No. 91-18 which became effective on June 28, 1991 and which provides for expedited abatement of hazardous vegetation from vacant lots and parcels, and; WHEREAS, said abatement of hazardous vegetation has been completed on each of the parcels as described in the attached list of parcels (Exhibit "A"), as a cost equal to the cost of abatement and removal of hazardous vegetation on each such parcel; and WHEREAS, following a public hearing were held concerning the cost of abatement of these parcels and the Council heard all objections of property owners liable to be assessed for the costs of abatement, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Temecula as follows: Section 1. All of the recitals herein set forth are tru and correct, and the City Council so finds and determines. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Temecula, State of California, in regular session assembled on May 22, 2001, that the list of parcels and costs of abatement and removal of hazardous vegetation for each parcel is hereby confirmed and that said costs shall constitute special assessments against the respective parcels of land, and are a lien on said land in the amount of respective parcels of land, and are a lien on said land in the amount of respective assessment. Section 3. Such liens shall attach upon recordation in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Riverside of a certified copy of this Resolution, and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to make such recordation. Section 4. A copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the Treasurer-Tax Collector who shall enter the amount of the respective assessments against the respective parcels of land as they appear on the current assessment roll, and shall collect said assessments at the same time in the same manner as ordinary municipal ad valorem taxes as provided in Section 39577 of the Government Code.
