A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIl. OF THE CITY OF
TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY
STREET CLOSURES FOR TEMECULA FALL ROD RUN 2001
EVENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO ISSUE
A PERMIT FOR THIS SPECIFIC SPECIAL EVENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, The California State Vehicular Code 'ovides for the promulgation of rules
and regulations for the temporary closure of public street by local authorities by Resolution;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish rules and regulations for the temporary
closure of public streets in the interest of promoting safety ~nd protection; and,
/
WHEREAS, The City of Temecula desires to auth(Jrize the closure of public streets for
the Temecula Fall Rod Run 2001 Event sponsored bylthe Drifters Car Club and P & R
Productions, for which such temporary street closures pl'omote the safety and protection of
persons using or proposing to use those streets for the spe~ ',iai event: and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to facilita,:e the issuance of permission to
temporarily close public streets for the Temecula Fall Rod F un 2001 Event; and,
NOW, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Engineer to approve
temporary street closures for the Temecula Fall Rod Run 2b01 Event sponsored by the Drifters
Car Club and P & R Productions, and to establish the general rule that all other proposed
temporary street closures shall be reviewed and approved ~ubject to conditions, or disapproved,
by the City Council; and,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Co~
authorizes the City Engineer to permit temporary street cio.~
