HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-066 CC ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 97-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA APPROVING THE SOLID WASTE RATES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997/98 WHEREAS, the City of Temecula (the "City") and CR & R Incorporated ( the "Grantee") entered into an exclusive franchise agreement on May 28, 1991 for the collection, transportation, recycling, composting, and disposal of solid waste and construction debris and for providing temporary bin/rolloff services in the City, and WHEREAS, the franchise agreement provides for periodic rate adjustments based on certain predefined criteria, specifically annual Consumer Price Index ("CPI") adjustments and landfill tipping fee adjustments; and WHEREAS, the franchise agreement further provides a formula to calculate the fee adjustments to be made to the agreement on an annual basis; and WI~'REAS, the CPI adjustment is 1.9% and the landfill tipping fee decrease is $2.00 per ton for fiscal year 1997/98; and WI-W~REAS, the franchise agreement provides that the solid waste fee adjustments are to be adopted by the City Council by Resolution. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City of Temecula approves the solid waste fee adjustments as shown in Exhibit "D" for fiscal year 1997/98. Section 2.
