A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMECULA CREATING THE GENERALI PLAN COMMUNITY
ADVISORY COMMI'FrEE AND SETFING FORTH THEIR DUTIES
AND TERMS
WHEREAS, The City of Temecula adopted its first General Plan on November 9, 1993;
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the~ re is a need to review and update the
General Plan to ensure its appropriateness and accuracy;
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that an advisory committee shou d be created
to assist the staff and the consultant in preparing a revise~l draft General Plan for the Planning
Commission and City Council's consideration;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF
RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Establishment. The City Council heret
of a short-term Community Advisory Committee.

Section 2. Purpose. ThepurposeoftheCommunit~,AdvisoryCommittee s to assist City
staff and consultant team in the review of draft documents asSOciated with the General Plan update
process to provide community input into the process.
Section 3. Members. The Community Advisory Committee shall be composed of the
following: A. ~nning Commissioner;
B. A City Public Traffic Safety Commissioner;
C. A City Community Services ' '~
Commissioner;

D. A member of the C amber of Commerce;
E. A member of the Economic Developm~ent Council;
F. A representative of a local enwronmental or commun ty organization; and,
G. Five City residents, each selected by ~ member of the City Council.

Chairman will work with the City Staff to ensure that the other duties of the Committee are performed
in a timely manner.B. Meet and discuss General Plan related issues at the time and place selected
by the Director of Planning.

C. Review and provide comments to the Director of Planning on various
background reports and studies being prepared as part of ti' process of updating the City General
Plan. Examples of these reports and studies include: background and issue reports, draft goal and
policy reports, and alternati,,e land use and circulation plan~.

Section 5. Term. The Community Advisory Committee shall cease to function or meet
when the City Planning Commission begins ~ts cons~derabon of the Draft General Plan, unless the
Planning Commission or City Council specifically requests additional input on a particular subject or
issue.
