A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY
STREET CLOSURES FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL ANTIQUE AND
CRAFT STREET FAIRE, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO ISSUE A PERMIT FOR THIS SPECIFIC
SPECIAL EVENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, The California State Vehicular Code provides for the promulgation of rules
and regulations for the temporary closure of public streets by local authorities by Resolution;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish rules and regulations for the temporary
closure of public streets in the interest of promoting safety and protection; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Temecula desires to authorize the closure of Old Town Front
Street between Fifth Street and Second Street on November 11, 2001 for the first annual
Antique and Craft Street Faire produced by the City of Temecula, for which this temporary street
closure promotes the safety and protection of persons using or proposing to use this street for
the special event: and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to facilitate the issuance of permission to
temporarily close Old Town Front Street between Fifth Street and Second Street from 7:00 AM
to 6:00 PM for the first annual Antique and Craft Street Faire; and,
NOW, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Engineer to approve
temporary street closures for the first annual Antique and Craft Street Faire produced by the
City of Temecula, and to establish the general rule that all other proposed temporary street
closures shall be reviewed and approved subject to conditions, or disapproved, by the City
Council; and,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Temecula, hereby
authorizes the City Engineer to permit the temporary street closure of Old Town Front Street
between Fifth Street and Second Street on Sunday, November 11, 2001 from the hours of 7:00
AM to 6:00 PM for the first annual Antique and Craft Street Faire, and establishes the general
rule that all other temporary public street closures shall be approved or denied approval by the
City Council.

PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED, by the City Council of the City of Temecula at
a regular meeting held on the 23rd day of October 2001.
