A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL (:iF THE CITY OF
TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY
STREET CLOSURES FOR TEMECULA ROD RUN 2002 EVENT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO ISSUE A
PERMIT FOR THIS SPECIFIC SPECIAL EVENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, The California State Vehicular Code provides for the promulgation of rules
and regulations for the temporary closure of public streets b,.! local authorities by Resolution;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish rules .and regulations for the temporary
closure of public streets in the interest of promoting safety and protection; and,
WHEREAS, The City of Temecula desires to authorize the closure of public streets for
the Temecula Rod Run 2002 Event sponsored by the Temecula Town Association, for which
such temporary street closures promote the safety and protection of persons using or proposing
to use those streets for the special event: and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to facilitate the ~ssuance of permission to
temporarily close public streets for the Temecula Rod Run 2002 Event; and,
NOW, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Engineer to approve
temporary street closures for the Temecula Rod Run 2002 Event sponsored by the Temecula
Town Association, and to establish the general rule that all other proposed temporary street
closures shall be reviewed and approved subject to conditiens, or disapproved, by the City
Council; and,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Temecula, hereby
authorizes the City Engineer to permit temporary street closures for the Temecula Rod Run
2002 Event, and establishes the general rule that all other temporary public street closures shall
be approved or denied approval by the City Council.

a regular meeting held on the 12th day of February 2002.
