OLD TOWN TEMECULA LOCAL REVIEW BOARD
January 12, 1998 · 9:00A.M.
TEMECULA COMMUNITY CENTER, 28816 PUJOL STREET
Members Present: A. Blair, B. Harker, D. Mighell & B. Morris
Staff Present: J. Meyer & S. Naaseh
1. Public Discussion (3 minute limit per speaker)
Mr. Dool indicated that the mural work on the Circle K wall has been started. H e
further indicated that the continuation of the mural throughout the wall may
become a City sponsored project. He indicated that a train that passed through the
area will be part of the future mural. The Board supported the idea of having the
train on the wall if it is painted to match the train that passed through Temecula.
2. Approval of Minutes
December 8, 1997, - Approved 4-0 with a correction to a portion of item 3.a.
that should read as follows:
"signs shall be removed from the buildings and placed on the awnings"
3. Old Business
Temecula Stage Stop, Grape Arbor, Front & Sixth St., Continued 4-0 and
recommended redwood to be used as material.
Temecula Stage Stop, Walking Lights, Vent, Benches, Front & Sixth St.,
Approved 4-0 and recommended acid wash for the vent with a Burgundy ring.
4. New Business
McLaughlin Engineering and Mining, 41934 Main Street, Proposing to move
existing iron gate to the front of property at Main Street, add matching wrought
iron pedestrian gate and 16' gate at the second driveway at Main Street, add copper
lantern lights to existing pilasters, add concrete patio, curbs, walkways and stoop,
add decorative mining car, fountain, and wrought iron bench, remove all chain link
fence and extend the existing wrought iron fencing on the perimeter of the site,

a. Streetscape Project Update, Staff indicated that the arch design will be brought
back for the Board's recommendation
b. Signs in Old Town, No Discussion
c. The Bank building colors, No discussion
d. Board requested a walking tour for the February 9, 1998 meeting
7. Adjourned to February 9, 1998
