TEMECULA COMMUNITY CENTER. 28816 PUJOL STREET Members Present: Albert Blair, William Harker, Denny Mighell and Paul Nielsen Staff Present: Matthew Fagan, Senior Planner, Patty Anders, Assistant Planner, Knute Noland, Development Processing Coordinator, Ralph Brownell and Marianne Salazar, Code Enforcement. Public Discussion (3 Minute limit per speaker) a. No public comment received Approval of Minutes a. July 13, 1998 Approval of July 13, 1998 minutes. Approved: 4-0 (Nielsen motioned, Harker seconded) Old Business Streetscape update: The major improvement work is on schedule and should be completed on or about November 15, 1998. The Board members requested a list of streetscape improvements be provided from Public Works identifying all projects to be completed and progress reports on each. Additionally, information was requested on the height of the crossbar and sign over the two arch entries to Old Town. Signage: Staff reported that Public Works had received complaints regarding confusing signs in the Old Town construction area. It was agreed that no changes were warranted due to the fact that Main Street opened on November 5th. New Business Krieger's Store Color Changes (Otto and Nancy Baron, PA 97-0107): The applicants proposed a change to the color palette for their building. They would like to paint a portion of the structure avocado green. Several samples were reviewed by the Board and found acceptable. However, it R:\OldtownW!inutes\ 1998\OTLRB MINI 1.doc 1 was agreed that the best approach to obtaining the correct hue would be to take a painted lumber sample from the original building and have it matched by computer. Approved: 4-0 with the understanding that the computer matched sample will be brought back to the Board for evaluation. (Mighell moved, Blair seconded). Consultation Board Discussion Staff Approvals Musician's Workshop: Staff reported that they have not received a formal application with color boards and elevations. Also, the temporary banner presently on the building was not permitted. Marianne Salazar, City of Temecula Code Enforcement Officer, advised that they are not actively regulating illegal signs due to the construction in Old Town. However, if a written complaint is received, a staff member will respond. Helga Berger of the Chocolate Florist (Serendipity) requested approval of a proposal to install brick pavers at the two driveway entrances of her business. The Board agreed that the improvements were appropriate and requested that the item be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. Adjourn to December 14, 1998 meeting.
