Meeting called to order 9:08 AM by L. Markham.
1. Public discussion-none.
2. Approval of minutes April 10, 1995 meeting, Harker/Lord/unanimous.
R Morris arrived 9.1~ AM.
4. Old Business.
a. Streetscape update. Craig Ruiz advised that demo. block, storm runoff,
and utilities improvement design contract was in negotiation with
contractor.
b. Master CUP recommendation from staff was not yet available per C. Ruiz.
c. Westside specific plan and EIR recommendation would be made available
to Board Members by staff.
d. Mad Madelaine's have been advised by City letter that paint at rear of
building must be conformed to existing building colors.
5. Staff Approvals.
a. Texas Lil's rear cooler accepted for architectural conformity.
6. Board discussion.
Craig explained the change in the facade improvement and sign replacement
plan; that owners/businesses ~ould be reimbursed a portion of covered costs
instead of being loaned the money.
Bill Harker asked if the Mercantile Building on Main St. would be earthquake
strengthened at: the same time as the streetscape was installed. Craig Ruiz
advised that it wasn't' currently planned for simultaneous improvement. The
board requested a schedule for the outdoor cantina addition the Bank of
Mexican Food. No schedule-owner is not sure he wants to make addition. Larry
Markham requested an early meeting between the Board and the selected
*designer of the streetscape improvements.
