Presentation provided by staff, and announcements by Task Force Members, on Accomplishments of Task Force to date: a. Completed a Secondary Data Analysis Report "What Do We Know About Cancer in the Region" and a Cancer Care Community Health Needs Assessment. b. County Public Health drafted an extract "Regional Cancer Treatment Task Force: An innovative approach to assessing and addressing a need for services and treatment options" about the Task Force, for presentation during the "American Public Health Association 's 2018 Annual Meeting & Expo" (Nov. 10 - Nov. 14) in San Diego. c. Michelle's Place is expanding their cancer care services to all cancers; and introduced Treatment Assistance Program (TAP). d. Temecula Valley Hospital begins a Residency program in 2019, which will bring more doctors to the region. e. City of Hope has expanded into our region with radiation oncology. f. Loma Linda earned National Accreditation as a "Quality Accredited Cancer Program" by the American College of Surgeons g. Dr. Hizon discussed the Future Physician Program: i. Future Physician Program: 45 participants (college age) ii. Medical Pathway Programs 26 participants (high school) iii. Medical Scribe Program 47 participants (vocational training) 2. Updates/Final Tasks to Complete: a. Staff to work with Julie Reeder of Reeder Media to develop a Southwest Riverside Cancer Publication for 2019. b. The Task Force will employ a WRCOG intern (paid for by WRCOG) to assist in the final tasks, including completing the publication/magazine/resource guide, gathering articles and advertisements, general outreach on the topic. c. The Task Force will conclude on February 21, 2019, with a "Meet & Greet" inviting for local medical professionals (including outside region) for networking. 4.
