A total of 15 minutes is provided so members of the public may address the Board on items
that are listed on the Agenda. Speakers are limited to three (3) minutes each. If you desire
to speak to the Commission about an item not on the Agenda, a pink "Request to Speak"
form should be filled out and filed with the Board Secretary.
When you are called to speak, please come forward and state your name for the record.
For all other agenda items a "Request to Speak" form must be filed with the Board
Secretary prior to the Commission addressing that item. There is a three (3) minute time
limit for individual speakers.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Planning Application No. PA01-0608, submitted by Mercato Italiano Deli & Fresh Produce, is
for (1) one wall sign to be erected on the west elevation of a building located at 28690
Mercedes Street within the Tourist Retail Core (TRC) District of the Old Town Temecula
Specific Plan.
ANALYSIS
This proposal is for (1) one 50 square foot wall sign in the parapet area of the west elevation.
The Old Town Specific Plan allows for a maximum of 58 square feet of total wall signage for
this building. The wall sign is single-faced and made of sandblasted red cedar wood painted
with colors from the Old Town Sherwin Williams Preservation Palette. The primary colors of
this sign are Plymouth Green ($W2852), Classical Yellow (SW2831) and Classical White
(SW2829). The ancillary artwork (grapes, leaves and swirls) on this sign consists of the
following colors: Rookwood Dark Green (SW2816), Renwick Heather (SW2818) and Downing
Sand (SW2820). The letter height of this sign does not exceed 12" in compliance with the Old
Town Specific Plan design guidelines for building storefronts (58) fifty-eight feet in width.
RECOMMENDATION
The improvements proposed in this application have been determined by staff to be consistent
with the Old Town Specific Plan as to size, materials and colors. Staff is requesting that the
Old Town Local Review Board review, provide comments and approve this project.
