Regular Meeting
December 14, 1992
RECEIVED
DEO 14 1992
CITY OF TEMECUL ,
Walt Allen, Tony Terich, Robert Morris,
Bill Harker, and alternate Christina Grina.
City Staff: Mathew Fagan
Guest: Evelyn Harker
The'meeting was called to order by Mathew Fagan at 9:00 a.m.
in the Board Room of the Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street
Under public comments, Evelyn Harker again spoke to the Board
regarding her dissatisfaction with some of the plastic banner
type signs on buildings in Old Town which detract from the
Old Town theme· She suggested that the Board ask the City to
enforce the existing sign ordinance covering Old Town and not
allow a moratorium on temporary signs due to the current
economic situation since it is not fair to other merchants
who have abided by the ordinance. Fagan indicated he would
discuss the matter with Gary Thornhill.
1. Minutes of the November 9, 1992 meeting were approved as
written.
No projects were brought before the Board for approval,
however Fagan reported the Corner Deli had revised their
sign as suggested by the Board at the November meeting.
Fagan gave a status report in which he said exterior work
on the Senior Center would start this week but that the
grading of the property has been delayed by the CDF and
the City hopes to get started on it in January.
Fagan also reported the funding has just about been
worked out for the cost of refurbishing the Mercantile
building to make it earthquake proof. He also stated the
Building & Safety Department is planning to distribute
seismic information to owners of older homes that were
built prior to 1960.
Fagan~ reported that a number of people have looked at
the Specific Plan for Old Town and the majority of them
have been agreeable to the plan as proposed. He reminded
the Board that the Dec. 10 meeting of the Steering
Committee to review the land use recommendations has been
rescheduled for Jan. 6 at a location to be announced.
Fagan said that the proposed land uses
City Hall during regular working hours.

hearings on the plan in February or March. Re then

lation maps.
