The meeting convened at 9:15 a,n,. at 28465 Front street
Suite 201 for the purpose of discussillq the nOIl-conFonninq
buildill>l at Kids Wor'ld on Third Street. in O.ld Tm,n Temecula.
1. Mell,be,'s explained the purpose of the co,","il:l.ee c~lld why
it is necessary to hold the line on the use of 11Iobile or
pr-e-fab buildings ill the area of the histodcal overlay.

2. The applicant. McKusker. who is seeking a lone Variance
t.o cover' a non-confonning bui 1ding he has already placed
on the propert.y, said he understood the committee's task
and felt. they we"e qoinq ill the ,'iqlll: <iil'ection. He then
explained how he went about putl.ing the building on the
p,'ope,'ty wi.thout C\ pe,'mit, stating he ,-~ot caught in t.he
middle between the county and the city at the time the
city incorporat.ed.
3. After asking for suggestions fr'onl the committee on how he
might rectify the situation he finds himself in he stated
he would engage an architect to corne up wit.h some special
treatment. such as roof overhangs, wood sash on the
windows, and covered porches to make the building more
acceptable.
4. The committee. while making no promises, agreed 1'0 take a
look at what the architect comes up with to see if it
more closely matches the appeal8"ce of t.he other
buildings on the pr'ope,^tv.

the committ.ee in t.he first place since he knew the
committee existed and what. Lhe c;ummittee's pu,pose and
responsibility is.
6. The applicant asked for some guide lines and was tol.::!
that materials used and architect.ural treat.ment should

through t.he earlv IqOO's.
