' tk, Ykey displayed a cop>, o{ a revitalization of Old Town 'f'emect~ia proposal that had been prepared by Christina Gr'ina as her thesis on architecture while a student at Cai Pol¥ in San Louis Obispo and which she had presented Lo the City Council at their November 13th meeting. It was the consensus of the committee that the Grins proposal was completely off base and if carried out ~ould destroy Old Town as it used to be arid-is now. It was decided to invite Grins to one of our meetings and explain to he~ what Old 'Jowl] Temecula is all about. ¸:3, "Horl is showed renderings of the proposed treatment of the old Welty building which consisted primarily of painting and some sJgnage. He said the building was scheduled to be water blasted before painting. The committee found the concept to be acceptable. q. HarkeY displayed the book of photos and descriptions of historic Temec. ula buildings that was prepared by the UOI,,dn'S club several years ago. The documentation will bo us;ed [,>, the committee in furthering their efforts, The "Old Historic Temecula" billboard that has been placed against the building on the north ~est corner of Front al~d btain came up for discussion. Since the sign is only 9o~ng to be up for the holidays it was decided not to make an issue although the committee members present felt it ~as out of place. Steps will be taken by the committee to see that ~t i8 removed after the holidays. A discussion took place or, finding a place to relocate thu old Escall, iel house or', Main Street near the fYeeway, but r,o Yec:o,,,mendations or decisions were reached. Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 a.m. to a special meeting at I<id8 World on Monday mol nin9, November 19th at 8:00 NEXT NEETING will be al: Dallas Grays offfice on Front Street at. 8:30 a.m. on blonday, December 3, 1990.
