SEPTIC TANK AND LEACH FIELD SSDS. WATER IS PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL PUBLIC UTILITY.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THIS REPORT:
THIS TEST WAS PERFORMED TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF USING AN ON SITE,
SUBSURFACE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM ON THE LOT IN QUESTION. THIS TEST WAS
PERFORMED FOR A LEACH LINE APPLICATION. THIS TEST AND REPORT WILL DETERMINE
WHETHER OR NOT THERE IS SUFFICIENT AREA AND PROPER USABLE SOIL AVAILABLE FOR A
SUBSURFACE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM TO SUPPORT'A PROPOSED OR FUTURE BUILDING
PROJECT ON.THE.PARCEL OR LOT.TESTED. .
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
THIS PARCEL IS A 2.57 ACRE PARCEL. THE PARCEL IS IRREGULAR IN SHAPE, THE PARCEL
FRONTS PAULITA ROAD, AT THE CUL-DE-SAC END, ALONG THE WESTERLY LOT LINE OF THE
PARCEL. THE.PARCEL IS COVERED WITH NATIVE GRASSES, DESERT CHAPARRAL AND BARE
DIRT. NO TREES ARE NOTED ON THE PARCEL. NO WELLS OR NEIGHBOR WELLS WERE NOTED
WITHIN 100' OF THIS PARCEL. NO ROCK OUTCROPS WERE NOTED. TOPOGRAPHY IS NOTED AS
GENTLY ROLLING. THE PARCEL IS EASILY FOUND USING THE ASSESSOR AND VICINITY MAPS
ATTACHED.THE PROPERTY WAS SHOWN BY THE OWNER/CLIENT.
METHODOLOGY OF TESTING:
PER THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH'S
REQUIREMENTS AS NOTED IN THE PUBLICATION "TECHNICAL GUIDANCE MANUAL" VERSION A,
CHAPTER 3.
ALL EXCAVATIONS WERE MADE USING AMIPAC'S MOBILE DRILL B-34, TRUCK MOUNTED
CONTINUOUS FLIGHT AUGER, DRILL RIG. AN 8 INCH DIAMETER AUGER WAS USED TO
EXCAVATE THE PERCOLATION TEST HOLES AND A SIX INCH DIAMETER AUGER WAS USED TO
EXCAVATE THE EXPLORATORY BORE HOLE. SCREENED LINERS WERE USED TO MAINTAIN
THE TEST HOLE DIAMETER AND PREVENT CAVING DURING TESTING.
AM/PAC AND ASSOCIATES, INC. PROJECT# 14-11413 DATE: AUGUST 5, 2014
INDICATOR RODS WITH FLOATS READING A TENTH INCH GRADUATED SCALE WERE USED TO
MEASURE THE WATER DROP. A 100 AND/OR 300 GALLON TRUCK MOUNTED WATER TANK WAS
USED TO PROVIDE WATER FOR THE TESTING PROCESS.
TESTING WAS PERFORMED WITHOUT THE NEED FOR AN OVERNIGHT PRESOAK.
TESTING WAS PERFORMED IN TEN-MINUTE INTERVALS OVER A ONE-HOUR PERIOD. AT THE
END OF EACH TEN-MINUTE PERIOD THE INDICATORS WERE READ, THE RESULT NOTED AND
THE HOLES REFILLED TO THE "ZERO" LEVEL WITH WATER. THE. INDICATORS WERE THEN
RETURNED TO THE "ZERO" POSITION. THE "ZERO" LEVEL OR POSITION IS THE DEPTH AT THE
BOTTOM OF THE INVERT OF THE PROPOSED LEACH LINE PIPE. SEETHE FIELD DATA SHEETS

ADVANTAGES OF LEACH LINES INCLUDE:
• LARGE CONTACT AREA WITH SOIL.
• AGGREGATE PROVIDES ADDED TREATMENT SURFACE AND
PROTECTS THE SOIL.
• EFFLUENT IS DISPOSED OF IN THREE FAS14IONS: PERCOLATION,
1 EVAPORATION, TRANSPIRATION.
LIMITATIONS OF LEACH LINES INCLUDE:
• A LARGER SURFACE AREA FOR DISPOSAL IS REQUIRED WHICH
BECOMES A VERY LIMITING FACTOR IN COMMERCIAL SYSTEMS.
• THE USE OF LEACH LINES IS DEPENDENT ON A POROUS STRATA
BEING WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE OF GROUND SURFACE.
• APPLICABLE CODES REQUIRE Al 00 % EXPANSION AREA IN
ADDITION TO THE PRIMARY AREA.
