HomeMy WebLinkAbout092893 TCSD Minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TEMECULA COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1993 A regular meeting of the Temecula Community Services District was called to order on Tuesday, September 28, 1993, 8:30 P.M., at the Temecula Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street, Temecula, California. President Patricia H. Birdsall presiding. PRESENT: 5 ABSENT: 0 DIRECTORS: Mu~oz, Parks, Roberts, Stone, Birdsall DIRECTORS: None Also present were City Manager David F. Dixon, Assistant City Manager Harwood Edvalson, City Attorney Scott F. Field, City Clerk June S. Greek and Recording Secretary Gall Zigler. PUB! IC COMM!=NT None CONSFNT CA! FNDAR It was moved by Director Stone, seconded by Director Roberts to approve Consent Calendar Items No. 1 - 3. The motion was unanimously carried as follows: AYES: 5 DIRECTORS: Mu~oz, Parks, Roberts, Stone, Birdsall NOES: 0 DIRECTORS: None ABSENT: 0 DIRECTORS: None Combining Balance Sheet as of June 30. 1993 and the Statement of Revenues. F,xpenditures and Changes in Fund Balance for the Year Ended June 30. 1993 RECOMMENDATION: 1.1 Receive and file the Statement of Revenues, Expenditures and Changes in Fund Balance for the Year Ended June 30, 1993; 1.2 Transfer $37,808 from various recreation operating accounts to Project Employees' Salaries. Resolution Fstablishing a Petty Cash Fund for Temecula Community Services District RECOMMENDATION: 2.1 Adopt a resolution entitled: RESOLUTION NO. CSD 93-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ESTABLISHING A "PETTY CASH" FUND CITY OF TEMECULA 3. Naming of CRC Amphitheater RECOMMENDATION: 3.1 Approve naming the Amphitheater in the Temecula Community Recreation Center as the Thomas H. It was moved by Director Mu~oz, seconded by Director Stone to approve staff recommendation as follows: RECOMMENDATION: 4.1 Receive and file report regarding the slope maintenance survey of property owners along Margarita Road within the Rancho Del Sol and Verano Developments. MANAC~FR'S RFPORT None DIRI=CTOR OF COMMUNITY SIFRVICI=S RFPORT Community Services Director Shawn Nelson reported the following: The bid opening for Pala Community Park will be Thursday, September 30, 1993. BOARn OF nlRFCTORS RFPORTS Director Parks asked whether staff has addressed his previous request to consider using the Northwest Sports Complex as a retention basin for storm run-off. Director Nelson said staff is currently considering how the Northwest Sports complex will be administered and that will be presented to the Community Services Commission and the Council. Director Parks stated there is a sense of urgency with the matter of County Flood Control incorporating this property into the final plan. Director Mu~oz suggested Mr. Nelson contact County Flood Control at the earliest possible time and discuss with them their possible for this site. President Birdsall commended Community Services Director Nelson and staff on the Old Town Temecula Senior Center. President Birdsall advised there is a a group traveling cross country celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first U.S. senior center, who she will contact and ask to make Temecula one of their stops. Director Stone proposed that the City sponsor a "Drug and Health Fair" at the Old Town Temecula Senior Center. Director Stone said he could arrange for free cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure testing as well as inviting representatives from the major drug manufacturers at no cost to the City. It was approved by consensus to allow Director Stone to coordinate with City staff to provide a Drug and Health Fair at the Old Town Temecula Senior Center. The next regular meeting of the Temecula Community Service District will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 1992, 8:00 PM, at the Temecula Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street, Temecula, California.
