OF THE TEMECULA CITY COUNCIL
HELD JULY 7, 1990
An adjourned meeting of the Temecula City Council was called to order at 9:04 AM in the City
of Temecula City Hall Annex, 43180 Business Park Drive, Temecula, California. Mayor Ron
Parks presiding.
PRESENT 5 COUNCILMEMBERS: Birdsall,
Mufioz, Parks
ABSENT: 0 COUNCILMEMBERS: None
Also present was Deputy City Clerk June S. Greek.
Lindemans, Moore
PUBLIC COMMENTS
No public comments were offered at this time.
COUNCIL BUSINESS
Mayor Parks announced that the purpose of this adjourned meeting is specifically to interview
candidates for the City's Public Safety Commission. He discussed briefly the manner in which
he would like to have the interviews conducted.
Candidates were then interviewed in the following order:
1. Ted Goudy
2. Gregory Hosberg
3. Frank Klein
4. Ronald Knopp
5. George Richards
6. Kevin Ruddy
7. Joe Schneider
8. Jon Sowers
9. Doug Worsley

The City Council also considered the resume and application of James Ebben who was unable to
attend the interviews.
RECESS
Mayor Parks declared a recess at 11:35 AM,
the meeting was reconvened at 11:40 PM
The Council took a straw vote ballot to determine if any clear choices were evident.
It was moved by Mayor Pro Tem Lindemans, seconded by Councilmember Birdsall to appoint
Ronald Knopp and Joseph Schneider who were selected unanimously on the first ballot. The
motion was unanimously carded.
It was moved by Councilmember Birdsall, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Lindemans to eliminate
from further consideration candidates who did not receive any votes in the first round of balloting.
The motion was unanimously carried.
Following discussion of the remaining candidates, the Council cast a second ballot.
It was moved by Councilmember Lindemans, seconded by Councilmember Birdsall to appoint
candidates Ted Goudy and Frank Klein. The motion was unanimously carried.
It was moved by Councilmember Mufioz, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Lindemans to appoint
Kevin Ruddy as the fifth member of the Public Safety Commission. The motion was unanimously
carded.
CITY COUNCIL REPORTS
Mayor Parks asked Councilmember Mufioz to notify the candidates for Public Safety Commission
of the Council's action.

AD.IOURNMENT
It was moved by Councilmember Moore, seconded by Councilmember Lindemans to adjourn at
12:06 PM to the next meeting to be held on July 10, 1990, at 7:00 PM in the Temecula
Community Center, 28061 Pujol Street, Temecula. The motion was unanimously carded.
