COMMITTEE BUSINESS
1. Rod Run Event Update— Staff shared updated Cruise Night route map showing cruise entrance
at north end of town and exits at south end or 6th Street to Mercedes Street. Staff also shared
Cruise Night will have a separate registration date from the Show and Shine registration date.
Staff requested guidance on 300 maximum Cruise Night participants. Subcommittee supported
new route with RSO at additional soft barricade locations to allow for day of decisions.
Subcommittee supported 300 participants maximum for Cruise Night registration. Staff will
communicate new route and new registration procedures in multiple and accessible ways to the
public.
2. Extended Hours for Lights at Park Amenities Update— Staff confirmed there were no concerns
regarding extending hours for lights at park amenities after confirming Palomar light
ordinances and meeting with RSO on the matter. Subcommittee supported extending lights
until 11:00 p.m. at park amenities. Staff will amend current city ordinances to reflect the
update.
3. Bi-Annual Small Business Development Center(SBDC) Markets Update— Staff recommended
moving the Fall and Spring SBDC markets to a Saturday morning date and to Sam Hicks
Monument Park location so no road closures would be needed. Staff spoke to both the SBDC
and the Farmer's Market management who plan to cross-promote updated day/location.
Subcommittee supported the recommendation.
