Per our conversation at your house on 06/14/23;
We discussed that the existing panel needs to meet all of SCE’s clearances and requirements and you will make these
corrections with SCE guidance.
x The panel needs to be at minimum 48” to center of the meter. It is currently at 45”.
x The pull section (which is limited to SCE access) has an opening in the back that must be sealed.
x The service cables must come from the conduit at the bottom of the pull section.
x The service cables must be fed directly from the Handhole (across street) and to the panel without going under a
structure.
We also discussed that SCE is required to meet, at maximum of 5% voltage drop and 5% flicker.
Items that influence voltage drop and flicker are motor starting amps (A/C units measured in tonnage), distance from
transformers, and sizes of electrical secondary and service cables.
x You have a 4 ton A/C unit. Largest starting motor equipment on your property.
x SCE is serving your house with 1/0CLP cable from the handhole to your panel location.

x SCE is serving the handhole with 350CLP cable from the transformer.
x SCE determined that;
x your voltage drop is 1.35% - acceptable
x your flicker is 5.02% - unacceptable
o The service cable to the house will be upgraded to support the required voltage drop and flicker
requirements.
SCE will be performing a maintenance work order to fix the voltage drop and flicker to meet the required maximum 5%
requirements. This will be at no cost to you. It is required SCE maintenance work.
Scope of this project will be SCE trench and set conduit from the existing handhole location to a position close to the
panel. SCE will set a traffic rated handhole near the panel and connect to the existing 3” conduit that is feeding the bottom
of your panel. Due to the elevation of the street being higher than your home, this second handhole is required to avoid
any water intrusion into your home through the panel.
When the date of the outage occurs, SCE will have you remove the cable in the pull section and seal the opening in the
back of the pull section with one way screws.
SCE will have you coordinate with our Underground Inspector, Production Specialist and Crew Forman.
The work order is going to take about 6 weeks to produce. Crew scheduling will take another 30 days. If all goes right, this
should be done about the first part of September.

01/19/23), there were several concerns and violations that do not meet SCE standards for service.

If the conditions are still the same as they were in November of 2021, then these are in serious violation of NEC, City and
SCE standards. You will need to start a work order with SCE to correctly install conduit and a new panel from the

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Respectfully we would like for someone to come out and look at all the work
that was done, inside and out. Reviewing the conduit work with wiring, accessible external junction box and conduit with
wiring to the meter. On the first inspection not all the work was looked at. They only looked at the main electrical panel on
the outside. Then we were not even aware the second person came out. Never saw or met with him. I had asked to be
there when they came out so it all could be inspected and was never notified about it.
SCE checked and verified that the service was safe to leave energized. Please take a look at it to see how it was actually
done.
After re inspecting the work if in fact you don't find it up to par we will look into doing as you are asking.

until the City finished investigating your room addition. This was per e-mail I had sent on December 20, 2021 and your

SCE checked and verified your service was safe to leave energized on November 24, 2021 and this was following a
conversation you had with SCE Revenue Protection on this same day.
I called the City of Temecula about 20 minutes ago to verify the status of your project.

SCE will need to develop a work order map fo your home. This map will show you trenching from the handhole (Across
the street) to the new panel location on your garage wall near the front of the house.
x You will be required to set conduit with the guidance of SCE’s Pre-Construction Inspector.
o **ALL TRENCHWORK, CONUDIT WORK AND PANEL LOCATION MUST BE INSPECTED AND
APPROVED BY SCE prior to you performing any excavation.**
o Since this involves trench work in the City right of way (the street), you must obtain a encroachment
permit from the City of Temecula .
o SCE must obtain the same permit to set our cable within the conduit you set.
x The City of Temecula must inspect and approve the panel before the work can be given to our Operations Dept
for crew scheduling.
x The existing panel with the meter must be replaced.
o It has been too heavily damaged and compromised for salvage and re-use.
x City inspection is also required for SCE to install the meter.
As of this writing, design lead times are at minimum 16 weeks, approval is 4 weeks, and scheduling is 26 days (After
invoice is paid).
Please complete the attached forms and I will get this in line for design.
