Reinhart, RCE, Grading Plan for Morrison Property Drainage Channel, Lot 48 of Tract 3752, APN 922-150-008, plans dated May 17, 2001. 1. Dear Mr. Silva: Per your request and signed authorization, EnGEN Corporation conducted in-place density testing from February 13, 2002 to February 28, 2002. These tests were performed in random locations during the channel fill grading operations. Soil fills ranging from approximately 1.0 to 4.0-feet in depth were placed. Grading was accomplished with a front loader, excavator, and a water truck. In-place density tests were performed in the channel bottom. A 100-foot long rip~rap ramp was constructed at the box culvert outlet. At its thickest the ramp is approximately 8-feet thick (at the culvert), tapering to approximately 1-foot thick at 100 feet south of the culvert. This rip-rap was then covered by approximately1-foot of fill. A series of steps were constructed in the channel bottom. The faces of the steps were covered with rip-rap. The westerly channel slope was covered with rip-rap with an approximately 5-foot deep key. This rip-rap was then covered by 1-foot of soil. The scope of EnGEN Corporation's work did not include any recommendations on rip-rap placement or design. The scope of work includes compaction testing of the fill placed in the channel bottom only. The rip-rap descriptions above are for informational purposes only. Compaction test results on the'soil fill in the channel bottom are presented below. --\ \ , . I' , . I' --- \ /' " . The tests were performed in general accordance with ASTM D 1557-91 (1998) procedures The test results are presented in the Appendix Relative compaction testing was performed in general accordance with ASTM D 2992-96 and ASTM D 3017-98 procedures for determining in-place density and moisture content, respectively, using nuclear equipment. Test results are presented in the Appendix. In-place density test results indicate a minimum of 90 percent relative compaction in the subject fill areas.
