California CCIE Project'No. 95-81-251-01 Dear Mr. Banks: Converse Consultants Inland Empire (CCIE) has prepared this report to present the results of field density testing performed during post-grading at the above-referenced tract in the city of Temecula, California. These services were rendered in accordance with our proposal dated August 1, 1995. This report contains results of field density testing performed during post-grading for Lots 21-61 and the adjacent Via Mejia. Camino Herencia. and Camino Caruna streets The field density testing was performed during construction of the following facilities: I. Pad Regrade (Finished Grade) I. Sewer Main and Lateral Trenches I. Sidewalk Subgrade I. Street Subgrade I. Curb and Guner I. Gas Line Trench I. Water Line Main and Lateral Trenches I. Electrical/Joint Trench A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Converse Professional Group \ I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I The field density tests were performed on an on-call basis at the direction of your field 'representative. CCIE did not perform any observations of backfilling and/or compaction operations. Field density tests were performed using the Sand Cone (ASTM Standard D1556-90) and/or Nuclear Gauge (ASTM Standard D2922-91) . methods. I Representative bulk soil samples were obtained during grading to evaluate their maximum density-optimum moisture content relationships as per ASTM Standard i D1557 Method. Results of the moisture-density tests are summarized in Table No.1, ,Summary of Laboratory Maximum Density-Moisture Content Relationships. i Results of the field densitY testing are presented in Table No.2. Summary of Fie/d . Density Test Results. The relative compaction for each field density test presented . in Table No.2. Summary of Field Density Test Results. is obtained by dividing the ,measured in situ dry density by the maximum dry density of the same "Soil Type" I presented in Table No.1. Summary of Laboratory Maximum Density-Moisture Content . Relationships. The required minimum relative compaction at each test location is included in the "Remarks" column in Table No.2. Summary of Field Density Test Results. , When a field density test indicated failing results. the representative fill volume was ,reworked by the contractor and retested by CCIE until a subsequent test indicated passing results.
