A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMECULA DESIGNATING AGENTS TO ACT FOR
AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF TEMECULA, AND THE
ELSINORE-MURRIETA-ANZA RESOURCE
CONSERVATION DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF
OBTAINING CERTAIN FEDERAL FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE UNDER THE ROBERT T. STAFFORD
DISASTER RELIEF AND EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE ACT
OF 1988, P.L. 93-288, AS AMENDED.
AS, rainstorms have historically caused extreme flooding of Murrieta Creek, and
WHEREAS, the flooding of Murrieta Creek has caused extensive damage to the City of
Temecula, particularly in Old Town Temecula, and
WHEREAS, the construction of a detention and desilting basin in the vicinity of Cherry
Street and Jefferson Avenue will significantly alleviate the potential for floodwater damage caused
by Murrieta Creek, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that financial assistance is necessary to
construct the detention and desilting basin as the first step in constructing improvements to
Murrieta Creek, and
WHEREAS, the City Council considers the improvement of the Creek as one of its
highest priority capital project needs.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City if Temecula
does hereby designate the following individuals to act for and in behalf of the City of Temecula
and the Elsinore-Murrieta-Anza Resource Conservation District for the purpose of obtaining
certain federal financial assistance under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency
Assistance Act of 1988, P.L. 93-288, as amended:
Ron Bradley, City Manager

Genie Roberts, Director of Finance

at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of October, 1996.
