Dear. Tom and Maryann Edwards:
In accordance with your request and signed authorization, EnGEN Corporation has performed
field observations, sampling, and in-place density testing at the above referenced site. Submitted,
herein, are the test results and the supporting field and laboratory data.
. 1.0 PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION
1:1 PROJECT LOCATION
The subject project is located on the southern side of Via Telesio west of the
intersection of Via Telesio, and Green Tree Road, in the City of Temecula, County- of
Riverside, California.
1.2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The subject project consisted of the installation of approximately 210 linear feet of 6-
inch PVC storm drain along the western property line of the existing pad area.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work performed by this office consisted of part-time field observations and
in-place density testing during the trench backfill operations on an on-call basis.

;2.1 BACKFILL OPERATIONS
The backfill operations consisted of the placernent and compaction of the excavated
trench material. These native materials were moisture-conditioned to near optimum
moisture content, processed, and placed in lifts of 6-inches to 12-inches, then
compacted with mechanical equipment. The backfill and compaction operations were
performed in accordance with the minimum standards and requirements of the City of
Temecula.
2.2 WORK DATES
This report represents geotechnical observations and testing during the construction
operations from October 11, 2006 through October 12, 2006.
2.3 CONTRACTOR AND EQUIPMENT
The compaction operations were performed by Custom Dirt Work through the use of
one (1) Backhoe with Sheepsfeet Compaction Wheel and one (1) Skip Loader.
3.0 TESTING
3.1 FIELD TESTING PROCEDURES
Field in-place density and moisture content testing were performed utilizing a nuclear
density gauge in general accordance with ASTM D 2922-03 and ASTM D 3017-01
respectively.
Relative compaction test results were within the 90 percent required for all material
placed and compacted. Test results are presented in the Appendix of this report. Fill
depths and test locations (by station numbers when applicable) were determined from
review of the referenced precise grading plans.
3.2 LABORATORY TESTING
The following laboratory tests were performed as part of our services during the
compaction operations for the subject project. The test results are presented in the
Appendix of this report.
3.2.1 MOISTURE-DENSITY RELATIONSHIP TEST
Maximum dry density-optimum moisture content relationship tests were conducted on
samples of the materials used as backfill. The tests were performed in general
accordance with ASTM D 1557-02 procedures.

:4.0 EARTH MATERIALS
The natural earth materials encountered on-site generally consisted of Light Brown Silty
Sand.
'5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the observations and tests performed during the backfilling operations, the
subject backfill in the areas tested has been compacted in accordance with The City of
Temecula Grading Ordinance.
