Pursuant to your request, Petra Geotechnical, Inc. (Petra) has performed a geotechnical
evaluation of the borrow site located immediately west of Lots 25 through 28 within
Tract 25892 located in the City of Temecula, Califomia. Grading operations should
be performed per the recommendations presented in the above-referenced report.
The borrow site is owned by Rilington Communities and is proposed to be occupied
by three 1+ acres residences. The borrow opera[ions took place from July through
September 2001, as soil was needed to bring lots within Tract 25892 to grade. The
borrow operations created a large, relatively flat pad with a 2S-foot high 2:1
(horizontal:vertical [h:v]) cut slope ascending from the northern portion of the pad.
All of the remaining slopes which descend from the borrow pad have remained natural
at an approximate gradient of 2:1 (h:v).
The borrow operations do not pose a stability threat to any of the surrounding
properties, including Tract 25892. In fact, the borrow operations reduced the height
of the hill by approximately 25 to 30 feet, which ascends from the western boundary

of Tract 25892. Therefore, the slope stability was increased and the threat of heavy
mud flow and runoff onto Tract 25892 from the borrow site was reduced.
