PUBLIC COMMENTS:
A total of 15 minutes is provided so members of the public can address the
Commissioners on items that are not listed on the Agenda. Speakers are limited to
three (3) minutes each. If you desire to speak to the Commissioners about an item not
listed on the Agenda, a green "Request to Speak" form should be filled out and filed
with the Commission Secretary.
When you are called to speak, please come forward and state your name and address
For all other agenda items, a "Request to Speak" form must be filed with the
Community Services Commission Secretary before the item is addressed by the
Commission. There is a three (3) minute time limit for individual speakers.
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
All matters listed under Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and all will be
enacted by one roll call vote. There will be no discussion of these items unless
members of the Commission request specific items be removed from the Consent

Action Minutes of the July 12, 2010, Community Services Commission
meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:
2.1 That the Community Services Commission receive and file a report updating the
Commission on the City sponsored Senior Center Garden at the Mary Phillips
Senior Center.
3. Old Town Temecula Community Theater Recap and Temecula Presents 2010 -2011
Season Preview
RECOMMENDATION:
3.1 That the Community Services Commission receive and file the report recapping
the activity during the 2009 -2010 season at the Old Town Temecula Community
Theater and previewing the upcoming Temecula Presents 2010 -2011 season.

The next regular meeting of the Community Services Commission will be held on September
13, 2010 at 6:00 P.M., at Temecula City Hall Council Chambers, 43200 Business Park Drive,
Temecula, CA.
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

Park Drive, Temecula, or the Temecula Library - 30600 Pauba Road, Temecula - during normal

1. Minutes — Approved staff recommendation — (3- 0 -1 -1) —
Commissioner Hogan made the motion; it was seconded by
Commissioner McCracken and voice vote reflected approval with the
exception of Commissioner Meyler who was absent and
Commissioner Fox who abstained.
RECOMMENDATION:
1.1 Approve the Action Minutes of the June 14, 2010, Community
Services Commission meeting.
COMMISSION BUSINESS
2. Donation of Art for Civic Center — Approved staff recommendation — (4-
0 -1) — Commissioner McCracken made the motion; it was seconded
by Commissioner Hogan and voice vote reflected approval with the
exception of Commissioner Meyler who was absent.
RECOMMENDATION:
2.1 Recommend to the City Council approval of an agreement between the
City of Temecula and Paul J. Price and Kathi L. Price for the assignment
of all rights to the Santa Margarita Creek painting.

SUBJECT: Mary Phillips Senior Center Garden

RECOMMENDATION: That the Community Services Commission receive and file a report
updating the Commission on the City sponsored Senior Center Garden at the Mary Phillips Senior
Center.
DISCUSSION: On April 28, 2010 Community Services Department and the Senior
Center Staff were excited to announce the completion of the Mary Phillips Senior Center Garden
and celebrated the opening with the "first day of planting" shared by all who visited the garden that
day.
This evening, Recreation Supervisor Candice Adkisson -Flohr will provide an update on the progress
and activities of the Mary Phillip's Senior Center Garden.

SUBJECT: Old Town Temecula Community Theater Recap and Temecula
Presents 2010 -2011 Season preview

RECOMMENDATION: That the Community Services Commission receive and file the report
recapping the activity during the 2009 -2010 season at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater
and previewing the upcoming Temecula Presents 2010 -2011 season.
BACKGROUND: The fifth season at the Theater saw the launch of Dance Moves, a
monthly innovative forum for dancers and choreographers to promote themselves to the community
and create awareness of their work, and the Theater's participation in InnerState, a state -wide
dance project fully funded by the James Irvine Foundation. Additionally, a gift card program termed
GifTix was initiated and print -at -home ticketing began.
Temecula Presents upcoming sixth season will feature four top- notch, professional dance
companies, six concerts by the All Star Big Band and the Cabaret Pops Orchestra, seven concerts
in the classical music series, and six Friday Night Groove concerts featuring outstanding blues
artists. These distinct artistic genres were chosen to complement the other fine performances at the
Theater.
