The 15-foot excavation was excavated using a rubber-tired backhoe equipped with
a 24-inch wide bucket. The existing soil profile description is based on Three Soil
Characteristics: 1/ the soil type and grain size, 2/ difficulty of drilling, and 3/ the soil
moisture content.

PERCOLATION TEST METHOD
Twelve 30-minute percolation test readings were recorded for 6 hours after the
test holes were pre-soaked for a minimum of 24 hours. The 8-inch in diameter test holes
were first filled with 2 inches of gravel and approximately 10 inches of water and refilled
to 10 inches after each 30-minute reading. The slowest 30-minute percolation test
reading in all four holes was used to calculate the Design Rate.

LEACH LINE CONSTRUCTION
A standard leach line installation depth is recommended to be between 26-36
inches. The 4-inch leach lines must have a minimum of 2 inches of 3/4-inch crushed rock
on top of the pipe, and 12 inches of rock below the pipe. The native soils covering the
leach lines should be maintained in an uncompacted state to allow evapotranspiration to
take place. These loose soils covering the leach line area should be slightly domed so that
settlement, dishing and subsequent inundation do not occur. In general, the leach field
area should be kept free of all people, activity, vehicles and livestock traffic to insure the
soils remain loose and well aerated.
The use of "INFILTRATOR" iype leach line requires no crushed rock and 20%
less lineal footage of leach line.

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
A leach line depth of 36 inches is recommended for this specific septic system
design. Based on the data presented in the report and using the recommendations set
forth, it is the judgment of this engineer that there is sufficient area on the lot in question
to support an individual sewage disposal system that will meet the current codes and
standards of the Health Department. Based on the data presented in this report and the
testing information accumulated, it is the judgment of the engineer that the groundwater
table will not encroach within the current allowable limit set forth by county and state
requirements.
