COMMISSION CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Action Minutes of January 26, 2012 — Approved staff recommendation —(5-0-0) —
Commissioner Cosentino made the motion; it was seconded by Commissioner Carter;
' and voice vote reflected unanimous approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
1.1 Approve the Action Minutes of January 26, 2012.
COMMISSION BUSINESS
2. Request for Multi-Wav Stop Siqns — Roripauqh Road — With regard to 2.1, it was
recommended to defer the stop sign decision on Roripaugh Road until after a
workshop has been held. A motion was made by Commissioner Youmans to approve
2.2 and 2.3; it was seconded by Commissioner Cosentino (5-0-0); and voice vote
reflected unanimous approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
2.1 Deny the request for Multi-Way Stop Signs on Roripaugh Road;
2.2 Direct Staff to schedule a workshop with the residents of Roripaugh Hills to discuss
and develop potential neighborhood traffic calming alternatives; and
2.3 Direct Staff to schedule this item for further consideration at a future Commission
meeting.

` BACKGROUND:
At the meeting of Septernber 13, 2011, the City Council directed Staff to review traffic safety at each
school site within Temecula Valley Unified School District's (TVUSD) jurisdiction and conduct a
workshop with all stakeholders including TVUSD administrators, school site administrators,
Temecula Police Department, and parents.
Staff will provide a brief presentation of school area traffic conditions at Vail Ranch Middle School
and Crowne Hill Elementary School.

Also, City Maintenance staff responded to 34 service order requests ranging from weed abatement, tree trimming, sign repair,
A.C. failures, litter removal, and catch basin cleanings. This is compared to 51 service order requests for the month of
januar�., 2012.
The Maintenance Crew has also put in 35 hours of overtime which includes standby time, special events and response to street
emergencies.
The total cost for Street Maintenance performed by Contractors for the month of Februar�, 2012 was $90,223.00 compared to
$64,192.00 for the month of Januar�, 2012.
