When you are called to speak, please come forward and state your name and address.

1. Action Minutes of June 28, 2012 — Approved staff recommendation -(5-0-0) -
Commissioner Youmans made the motion; it was seconded by Commissioner Carter
and voice vote reflected unanimous approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
1.1 Approve the Action Minutes of June 28, 2012.

2. Request for Multi-Wav Stop Siqns — Niqhthawk Pass at Channel Street— With regard
to 2.1, it was recommended to defer the stop sign decision on Nighthawk Pass at
Channel Street until after a workshop has been held. A motion was made by
Commissioner Coram to approve 2.2 and 2.3; it was seconded by Commissioner
Cosentino (5-0-0); and voice vote reflected unanimous approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
2.1 Concur with the results of the Multi-Way Stop warrant analysis that Multi-Way Stop
Signs are not justified at the intersection of Nighthawk Pass and Channel Street;
2.2 Direct Staff to schedule a workshop with the residents of Nighthawk Pass to discuss
and develop potential neighborhood traffic calming alternatives; and
2.3 Direct Staff to schedule this item for further consideration at a future Commission
meeting.

School Area Traffic Safety Workshop — Greaf Oak High School

RECOMMENDATION:

BACKGROUND:
At the meeting of September 13, 2011, the City Council directed Staff to review traffic safety at each
school site within Temecula Valley Unified School DistricYs (TVUSD) jurisdiction and conduct a
workshop with all stakeholders including TVUSD administrators, school site administrators, '
Temecula Police Department, and parents.
Subsequently, a feasibility study was initiated to address concerns about vehicular and pedestrian
conflicts at Great Oak High School. The purpose of the study is to review fraffic conditions on Deer
Hollow Way and perimeter streets, identify pedestrian movements, and develop alternatives to
address pedestrian access along Deer Hollow Way. The feasibility study also includes an
evaluation of TVUSD's proposed on-site improvements. The draft feasibility study has been
completed and is ready for review.
A brief presentation of the results of the study and recommended alternatives will be provided by
Ruth Smith, P.E., Willdan Engineering.
