The subject�ite was graded in a�cordance wi�h the��e�iminary soii�report,the requirements of the City of Temecula, and the�aliforn�a Bu��ding Cc�de (CBC}. For ou�inv�es�igation and observation and testing of the a�ove mentioned site improv�ments,bo�k�th� 30-scale "P�ecise Grading P1ans" and �he 40-sca�e "Street Improvement Plans, prepaared by Medofer Engineering, �nc. of Men.ifee, California, was utilized during grading to Iocate our field density�ests. Stre��improvements included a storm drain Ii�e, water 1in�, street subgarade, st�reet base grade and aspha�t pavement. Based on our observation and the si�e plan, it is anticipated that the subject structu�res wil�be founded entirely in engineered f 11 materia�. Site Deseri tion The subject site is an irregular-shaped 4.�7-acre pareel of land located along Santiago Road at John Waarner Road in th� city of Temecula in southwest Riverside County, Ca�ifornia. The subject s�te is border�d on the north and west by large parce� residential developmen�, on the eas�t by vacant land, and on the south by Santiago Road and large parcel residential development. The geographical re�ationships of the s�te and surrounding area are shown on our Site Locatzon Map, Figure 1. Prior to rough grading, the subjec� site was in a relatively natural condition. Topography on the subject site varied farom gently sloping to modera�ely steep �errain wi�th natura� gradients of 10 to 40 percent. Pr�or to grading, vegetation on �he subj ect site consisted of a �aw new growth o�annual weeds and grasses up to approximate�y 6-inches in height. Overali relief on the sub�ect site was approximately 80-ft. "�' ROUGH �1ZAI��NG P�.�CEEDURE� -PADS �ite Pre aration The subject site was cleared of weeds and debris prior to commencement of grading, which was disposed of offsite. A�� pad� were overexcavated a minimum of 3.4 feet b�1ow pad grade and extended approximately 5-ft outs�de the building footprint. The contractor staked the limits of the pads prior to overexcavation and recompaction. Keyways were es�ablish�d along the fi�l slopes on the southerly and eas�erly portions of t�e subject site. The k�yways were established a m�nimum of 2-feet into medium dense native mate�.als at the tve and t��ted a minimurn of 2% into the hi�lside. The earth materials exposed at the keyway bottom were free of pinpoint pores and roo#s. Where fill v�ras placed over the existing high pre��ure gas �ines located a�ong th� easterly port�on of the subject site, the top 6 to 12-inches was scarifzed, moisture conditioned to near optimum moisture and recompact�d to a min�murn of 90-percent of the maximum d�y density, as determined by ASTM D-15S7. Prior �o placement of fill within the removal, the battom was scarifed a m�nimum of 12-inches, brought to near optimu�n moisture content, and campacted t� at least 90%re�ative compaction, as determined by ASTM D-1557 test method. The fil� mate�ials were leveled and mixed by a CAT D8 dozer, a�D 450E loa�er, a VOLVO 330� �oader and an EX2700C excavator. The exposed sedimentary bedrock soi�s wexe scar�fied to a minimum depth of 1�-inche�, moisture conditioned to near optimum moisture, and re�compacted to +94 percent of the maximum dry density, as determined by A�TM D 1557. The aroadway fill �as piaced in �hin 6 to 8-inch lifts and compacted to +90 percent of the maximutn dry densifiy, a� determined by ASTM D 1557. The fill materials wer� levele�and mixed by a CAT DS dozer, a JD 450E loader and a VOLVO 33�C loader. Compaction was achieved by v4rheel roliing by the water truck and the loaders and track walking by �he dozer. BACKFILL AND STREET INIPR�VEMENT OBSERVATI4N5 & TESTING Water Line Trenches The onsite 8-inch water line is�ocat�d u�i�hin Santiago Road from Approximately Sta�ion 21+82 to Sta�zon 32+�0.35 and Via Valencia f�om Approximately Station 10+00 to 14+��m degree of compac�ion of 90%. The materials used for backf'�1�consisted of onsite darl�brown and yellow brown siity Sands {Unif ed Soi1 Classification- SM). Fol�owing p�acement of the pipe, fill placement and compaction was achieved utilizing a rubber���ared backhoe with compacting wheel and a water truck(as needed). The fill was placed in 6 to 8 inch thick�ifts and moisture condrtioned, as needed, to b�ng�he material to near optimum moisture content, and was then properly compac�ed. A minimum degree of compaction of 90%(9S% in upper 1-ft}v�ras required as determined by ASTM D 1557 (THE, 2008} S�reet Sub rade Testin • Prior to the placement of Class �� Base, �he exposed subgrade materials were scarifed to a minimum depth of 12-inches, moisture conditioned to near optimum moisture, and re-compacted to+95 percent of the m�imum dry density, as d�termined by ASTM D 1557 (THE,20�8).
