ROLL CALL: Mayor Maryann Edwards Council Member Jeff Comerchero STAFF PRESENT: Greg Butler, Assistant City Manager Kevin Hawkins, Community Services Director Jennifer Hennessy, Finance Director Christine Damko, Economic Development Analyst Dawn Adamiak, Community Services Manager Becky Obmann, Administrative Assistant PUBLIC COMMENTS Paul Nota — Explained relationship between University Corporation and CSUSB/IESBDC Mark Katan — Spoke in support of the Taste of Temecula Valley/Temecula Education Foundation. Joanne Pann-Kydd — Spoke in support of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Kim Goodnough — Spoke in support of Michelle's Place Walk of Hope. Rebecca Paredez— Spoke in support of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. Annette Brown — Spoke in support of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. Peter Brennerji — Spoke in support of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. Andrea Jacobson — Spoke in support of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. Kimberly Adams — Spoke in support of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. Diane Strand — Spoke in support of the Digifest 2017/JDS Creative Academy. Marie Waite — Spoke in support of Fashion Week/Inland Valley Business & Community Foundation. Rita Dominguez — Spoke in support of the Outdoor Quilt Show/Valley of the Mist Quilters Guild and requested one additional banner for the Southside of town and the use of pop up canopies and chairs. Gillian Larson — Spoke in support of the Reality Rally and apologized for late submission. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 1) Review of Economic Development Sponsorship Applications for FY 2017-2018: Reviewed and discussed applications of sponsorship requests. (See Sponsorship Applications attached.) • The Committee was supportive of most of the proposed events/recommendations; and with warning, accepted the late application from Reality Rally. • The largest cash request/staff recommendation of $27,000 for the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival was referred to review by the Economic Development Committee after the audit is received. Recommendation was also made that the full City Council reviews for discussion/consideration/approval at the City Council Budget Workshop. • The Committee recommended a review of Economic Development Sponsorship funding policy prior to finalizing recommendations.
