Dear Mr. Jones, This letter is in response to the Referenced No. 1 review comments of the Referenced No. 2 report, which were included in your letter to EnGEN Corporation, dated September 28, 2004. For convenience, we are restating your comments followed by our responses. Comment 1: The consultant should include maps from County GEO No's. 950, 627 and any other pertinent report showing the location of this parcel relative to the previous work. Response 1: The requested maps from GEO 950 and 627 are included. They are labeled Figure 2 of GEO 950 and Plate 1 of GEO 627 (Plates 3 and 2 of this response). A map showing the location of the subject parcel with respect to the location of GEO 627 and GEO 950, labeled Plate 1, is attached. It should be noted that in the Referenced No. 5 approval letter from Riverside County Senior Engineering Geologist, Steven Kupferman, the Restricted Use Zones recommended in GEO 950 supersede the Restricted Use Zones previously recommended in GEO 627 in the area of the subject parcel. It should also be noted that there has been a lot line adjustment since the time of the GEO 950 report, decreasing the size of the lot as it is shown in GEO 950, so that less of the lot is within the Restricted Use Zone. Comment 2: The project geologist from EnGEN Corporation should provide a clear statement that no further trenching is needed for this parcel. Response 2: The fault has been located and its location surveyed. The area of the subject site was observed during rough grading, and no faulting was found to extend into the subject site. Therefore, no additional trenching is considered necessary for the subject parcel. Comment 3: The project geologist from EnGEN Corporation should provide a recommendation to confirm the location of the fault setback zone on the grading and development plans, and in the field during construction. Response 3: The fault setback zone should be plotted on the grading and development plans, as shown on Plate 4, attached, and its location staked in the field when the building is staked so that the building location can be confirmed to lie beyond the limits of the Restricted Use Zone.
