In preparing this letter a representative of this firm conducted a site walkover of the subject lots and reviewed the reference reports. Based upon this information, the following recommenda- tions are presented. Work Order 400095H April 2, 1992 Page 2 1. Prior to the placement of concrete, the footing for the proposed structures should be inspected by the project geotechnical engineer. Footings should be founded upon competent bedrock and/or compacted fill and should be free of any loose and/or deleterious materials. 2. Depending upon the slab subgrade soil conditions, it may be necessary to presaturate the slab subgrade for the low expansive lots 13, 14 and 35 through 40, inclusive. Final determination of presaturation requirements for these lots should be based upon the actual field conditions as per the project geotechnical engineer. Provided that the above recommendations are utilized, lots 11 through 14, inclusive and lots 35 through 40, inclusive Tract 21675-5 are suitable for the intended use, from a geotechnical viewpoint. Unless specifically superceded herein, the recommendations as presented in the project grading report (reference 1) remain applicable. PACIFIC SOILS ENGINEERING, INC.
