Subject: Soils Compaction Report for Subgrade and Aggregate Base, Tract
21760, Temecula, Riverside County, California
This report presents a summary of the soils engineering observation and testing services
provided by GeoSoils, Inc. for the subgrade and aggregate base testing for Tract 21760
In the city of Temecula. The testing was performed for sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs,
and street repairs within the tract.
SUBGRADE AND BASE PROCESSING
The exposed subgrade materials were scarified to a minimum depth of 12 Inches and
moisture conditioned, as necessary, and compacted to achieve a minimum relative
compaction of 90 percent of the laboratory standard. Base materials were spread Into
thin lifts, moisture conditioned, and compacted to achieve a minimum relative
compaction of 95 percent of the laboratory standard.
FIELD TESTING
1. Field density tests were performed using the nuclear-densometer method ASTM
D-2922 and ASTM D-3017. The test results and approximate locations are
presented in the attached Table 1. Compaction tests have been numbered In a
continuous sequence.
2. Field density tests were taken at periodic intervals and random locations to check
the compactive efforts provided by the contractor. Where test results indicated
a less than the required minimum compaction, the contractor was notified and the
,area was reworked until the required minimum relative compaction was achieved
for each respective area.
3. Visual classification of the soil in the field was the basis for determining the
maximum density value to use for a given density test.

LABORATORY TESTING
The laboratory maximum dry density and optimum moisture content for each of the major
soil types was determined according to test method ASTM 0-1557. The following table
presents the results:

purview of this report have been completed under the observation of and with selective
testing provided by representatives of GeoSoils, Inc. and are found to be in general
compliance with the Grading Code of City of Temecula.

assumes no responsibility or liability for work, testing, or recommendations performed
or provided by others. This report is subject to review by the controlling authorities for

Transmitted, herewith, Soil Tech, Inc. is providing the results of
compaction testing conducted on the sewer line and the laterals on
Tract 21760, installed by Murrieta Development.
Previous testing was not conducted by the Riverside County Road
Department on the subject tract. The Road Department intends to
conduct "check tests" along the area presently tested by this firm.
Exhibit I is representative of the compaction tests conducted
during the backfill operation on May 10, 1990 through May 22, 1990.
Test locations were determined by lot numbers from the Sewer and
Water Plan and Profile prepared by Robert Bein, William Frost and
Associates, undated. For detailed information on locations and

Dear Mr. Thompson:
Transmitted, herewith, Soil Tech, Inc. is providing results of the
compaction testing conducted on the water line on Preece Lane,
installed by Murrieta Developement.
Previous testing was not conducted by the Riverside County Road
Department on the subject tract. The Road Department intends to
conduct "check tests" along the area presently tested by this firm.
Exhibit II is representative of the compaction tests conducted
during the backfill operation on May 10, 1990 through May 17, 1990.
Test locations were determined by station numbers from the Sewer
and Water Plan and Profile prepared by Robert Bein, William Frost
and Associates, undated. For detailed information on locations and
depths of tests conducted by this firm can be taken from the
Exhibit I and the site plan.

Subject: Boundary Monument inspection for
Tract No.'s 21760, 22761 and 22762
Robert Bein, William Frost and Associates have recently completed
a portion of the boundary monumentation of the above mentioned
Tracts pursuant to the terms agreed upon in a meeting with Gerald
Stayner, Ron Barnett, Bud Bacon and myself on January 23, 1990 at
Mr. Stayner's office.
Enclosed is a blueline copy of each map. The monuments that have
been either found or set are shown circled in red ink on the copy
of Tract 21760. These monuments have been recently flagged or
painted in the field to facilitate easy location by your field
inspectors.
All other boundary monumentation and interior monumentation is
bonded for and will be set pursuant to the terms of the monument
agreement for subject map.
We hereby request that the field monumentation inspection be
completed as soon as possible so that the map may be recorded.
