At your request, Petra Geotechnical, Inc- (Petra) has prepared this letter of
reapproval of Lots 6 through 15 (Phase 12) within Tract 23066-3 located in the
City of Temecula, California- Petra provided the geotechnical observation and
testing services for rough -grading operations (see Reference).
The subject lots have retrained in their graded state since completion. A site
reconnaissance was conducted in December 2003, to assess the geotechnical
conditions of the lots. Erosion damage was observed on all of the subject lots,
ranging from minor (less than 6 inches deep) to significant (15 to 2 feet deep).
Furthermore, the lots were heavily traveled over on a daily basis due to access to
storage bins and various construction supplies that were stored on the subject lots.
The damage to the lots was subsequently repaired under the observation and testing
by Petra during the period of January 5 through 9, 2004. Lot 8 (previously a cut
lot) required an overexcavation of 3 feet due to disturbance by consttuetion
vehicles. A remedial grading summary is presented in the attached Table I and the
results of field density tests are presented in the attached Table H.

This report presents a summary of tho observation and testing services provided by
Petra Geotechnical, Inc. (Petra) for the reapproval of Lots 46, 47 through 49 and 107
through 112 within Tract 23066-1 (Phase 5) located Litho Redhawk area of the City
of Temecula, Cali forma. The re -approval process included repair of erosion damage
on Tats 49 and 49. )tough -grading of the subject tract was completed in January 2003
(see Referonoe) and the lots have remained in a rough -graded condition since
completion.
Following this year's winter rains and the fact that the lots have remained dormant for
approximately I year, a site recolmaissance was conducted in September 2003, to
assess and document site conditions. Erosion damage within the subject lots was
observed to be generally minimal but with significant erosion on Tots 48 and 49
through the central portion of the pad up to approximately 3 Let in depth.
The erosion damage to Lots 48 and 49 was subsequently repaired by removing all
loose material within the eroded area, moisture -conditioning as necessary to achieve

a moisture content equal to or slightly above optimum moisture content and then
compacting the rep] acement fill to 95 percent or more relative compactiom The repair
was performed under the observation and testing of Petra on October 2, 2003. The
remaining subject lots were spun -off by a skip loader and all loose materials and weed
growth were removed to the original finish -grade olcvation. A s=rnary of the density
tests for the repair of the subject lots is presented in the attached Table I.

Geotechnical Report
Based on review of current site conditions and review of the referenced geotechnical
report, it is our opinion that the findings and conclusions presented therein are accurate
and appropriate for the conditions onsite. The recommendations presented are
generally appropriate as well. Since the geotechnical report was complete in 1989, our
foundation recommendations have changed somewhat and, therefore, the foundation
recommendations presented in the as -graded geotechnical report will differ from those

contained in the referenced geotechnical report are applicable for the earthwork
construction proposed for the subject site.
We have reviewed the referenced grading plan for conformance with the
recommendations presented in the referenced geotechnical report. As reviewed, the
grading plans incorporate the recommendations of the geotechnical consultant. The
proposed cut -and -fill slopes have acceptable gross and surficial factors of safety.
Final determination of the need for stabilization will, of course, be based on in -grading
geologic inspection.
