The Part One Crime Stars are broken down by individual districts within the City. This provides a greater understanding of the criminal activity within the City for police staff deployment and for Council interest. During the late days of March an off road motorcycle apprehension program was conducted in the area of Pauba and Margarita. The program was a result of local property owners complaining about off roaders. The Council was briefed on the shooting at the Valley Beat club. This investigation is continuing. It appears that the managers of the Valley Beat acted accordingly to prevent the incident. City staff are working with Valley Beat officials to impose new guidelines for their operation. No rave parties were detected during this period. Response times have remained as noted in previous reports. Page Two April 16, 1992 The move to the French Valley Station is completed. We are sorting out the operation and getting operational policies in place. The City Crime Prevention Officer and a Community Service Officer (CSO) are still housed at the former police building. They will be tracking the type of service provided to the citizens from that site. I will prepare a summary of activity once a clear picture is established. Based upon three days activity, the community appears to have adjusted to the new location. During March the number of burglaries was down. The number of traffic citations issued by staff was also down. The number of traffic collisions was up by about 10%. I believe this can be attributed to the rainy weather; however, it is interesting to note the decrease in citations and the increase in collisions.
